Description
Umton Damar Varnish
Umton Damar Varnish is a blend of damar resin and turpentine (in a 1:3 ratio), primarily used as a final varnish to protect finished paintings, though it can also be applied as a preparatory layer before painting. It creates a nearly non-yellowing, waterproof coating that dries faster than mastic varnish and remains non-sticky.
The varnish should be applied to a fully dry painting laid flat, using a brush, marker, or spray. After application, it dries within up to three days. If needed, the varnish can be easily removed with rectified turpentine without damaging the paint layer.
Additionally, Umton Damar Varnish can be mixed into oil paints to impart a glossy, enamel-like finish and a smoother texture.
